Taylor was promoted as a "conservative" country music singer, which is why she managed to have success and solid support.
I have my thoughts on what made her big, which is Kanye going on stage when she won, saying Beyonce should have won. Since then, she has been portrayed, the same as BTS, same as now, as the victim, people were and are eager to defend and give her attention.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that incident was at least somehow planned/expected to happen. Nevertheless, she wasn't so much in the spotlight, until that moment.

From my point of view, what gives the impression of issues between Scooter and Bang Si-Hyuk, is Scooter's absence of promotion after Jungkook's single was released. He didn't even congratulate Jungkook on his birthday on social media. Not that it means something, but ... I do believe it is related to some tensions between him and Bang.

The best time for Jungkook to launch his single and album would have been after his performance at the FIFA World Cup. Something which was not even promoted, by anyone involved. It wasn't promoted by Jungkook, it wasn't promoted by the management, it wasn't promoted by the record label.
These events, one after the other, would have established Jungkook's image as THE pop singer of this decade.
Meanwhile, Jungkook has been on his drugs, alcohol, and party trips, while his parents, brothers, family, Hybe BigHit Bang-Si Hyuk Lenzo Yoon spend his income and earnings on useless projects, Hybe still trying to establish themselves as sort of a major power in the field, while failing to deliver anything of importance. After more than a decade, they couldn't promote one other band/singer, while living off the stupidity and attention-seeking-BTS-members, who are allowing the company to waste their income, as long as they get their little attention-seeking-projects, such as Taehyung's episode of spending a day with a fan, so that Taehyung can feel important in his fake Messiah-role.
Here, the management chooses an overweight young person, so that the fans won't feel threatened and to keep up with the lies.
If this had been a model-sized-pretty-it-girl, the same episode would have caused a backlash, protests, anger, and danger of losing support from the fans.
Bang / BigHit / Hybe promotion of overweight "positivity" in young people is one of the many destructive agendas they are paid for, one way or the other.
BTS members live off this need to see godly worshiping as a reaction from people. To feel as if they were special, interesting, funny, the best singer, or important, without providing anything worth giving attention to.
