Pied Piper.
Everything it's about manipulating people in different areas and of different ages. As such the tools are different. What bothers the most, is how disturbingly sexual songs and lyrics are, where the target is children of a young age.
The sexual message in Pied Piper, the obsessive behaviour, the issues that arise, are not even taken seriously, it's more of a mockery, with no value of a critical thinking, or critical approach of the issue.
It is somehow neither a kitsch, nor a full sexual song. It's a lame attempt on sounding a bit cool and sexual for kids, most of them not understanding the sexual message, but still remaining in their heads.
I noticed that when I was younger, kids in my class would sing to sexual songs without knowing what it means, but it still awakens some sort of sexual feelings and at the very first sign of them, later in life, I felt that those sexual filled lyrics and songs, would have an impact on the over-sexualisation of young people.
The embarrassment with this album and songs, is their attempt to come over as intellectual and for their songs to sound somehow "deep", pensive, philosophical, while being very limited. Remember, that Jungkook often said that he doesn't like to study and he didn't finished school. His vocabulary and mental state has always been slow and very limited, I wouldn't want to go too far and label it as "retarded", but he is mentally and intellectually underdeveloped.
This album comes together with their US start-point and their affiliation to everything bad / from the "love yourself" campaign, to push gender dysphoria and homosexuality, to some bullshit ideology of hyper-sensitive people, who can't handle anything.
I personally liked the song and the lyrics aren't that bad, if it wouldn't have been for the fact, that there is no message and little sense in it. I found it to be inappropriate for their demographic.
Ar around minute 1, Jin's voice is unbearable - he constantly sounds, as if he's spitting out of his mouth, or almost vomits and after that Jimin's high notes - whenever Jimin opens his mouth, he sounds as if he's been fucked from behind. That's it.
In the video below I am being reminded about how unnatural the situation is, for everyone involved - men in their 20s acting like children, engaging with children.
That was the time, where their facial features where nearing the end of "cute babies" and before their started overdoing it with their surgeries.
You can't keep a parasocial relationship without reinventing new stuff and with lyrics and song like this one, the fans are getting the confirmation that their obsession is acknowledged by the members and basically serving as a motivational tool to continue.
They (bighit) have obviously a team of people they work with, who are constantly looking through medieval, middle ages and early modernism periods, picking whatever stand out in that time. Rather than working on new ideas, they look what they can find to use as a matrix for their songs.
This is how a banality like Piped Pier become something special, just because people would google the meaning of "pied piper" and suddenly there is something to read about, transposing everything that's interesting about the story, into the average BTS song.
The same manipulation tool was used when they botched my ears with their Jung affiliation, as if Yoongi would spend his alcoholic days and nights trying to understand Jung's writings...
Jungkook would probably not even be able to decipher one sentence, even with help.
But it works. People looked for the meaning of pied piper and the more they were preoccupied with actually something totally different, their emotions where constantly involved with BTS. It works.
Pied Piper was also on the most annoying album of BTS, with all the reference, and exhausting overload on "details", such as save me/I'm fine and fans trying to look for "hints", but it was never a "hint". It was just a sick game of making fans obsessing and rewatching their videos and pictures, God forbid one would miss a little "detail"...
Most of it was probably ran by a computer, who would find synonyms, acronyms, and all the ...nymphos...haha.
It was just too much.
I don't think, that is such a bad song, but every BTS song, which has Jin's and Jimin's voices hearable, is a lost cause.
